Timmins Police Service officers directed traffic while crews cleared the scene. The intersection reopened by 5 p.m.

Second Crash at Riverside and Balsam

Hours later, a second crash was reported at Riverside Drive and Balsam Street South. Emergency services responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and a sedan. One driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The intersection was closed for approximately 90 minutes for investigation and cleanup.
