Two suspects have been arrested following a stabbing in downtown Fort McMurray that left a 37-year-old man seriously injured early Thursday morning.
Incident Details
According to the Wood Buffalo RCMP, the incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. on July 3, 2026, when a 37-year-old man was found with serious injuries in the parking lot at 10002 Franklin Avenue. Emergency Services transported the victim to the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre for treatment.
Police located two suspects hiding in nearby bushes shortly after the attack. The alleged suspects are a 34-year-old woman from Fort McMurray and a 35-year-old man from Grande Prairie. The RCMP stated that the victim and the suspects were not previously known to each other.
Charges and Investigation
The suspects have been taken into custody and charged with multiple offences, including aggravated assault. Their names have not yet been publicly released. The investigation is ongoing with assistance from Forensic Identification Services.
