Warehouse Fire in Mississauga
Emergency crews responded to a fire at an unoccupied business near South Sheridan Way and Winston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga at 12:51 p.m. on Sunday. Peel Regional Police reported that the building was already engulfed in flames when officers and firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported, and the fire has been deemed suspicious by investigators.
North York Warehouse Blaze
Just over an hour later, at 1:24 a.m., crews were called to another warehouse fire near Steeles Avenue and Norfinch Drive in North York. Toronto Police said the building was fully involved in flames upon their arrival. There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed. Authorities are exploring whether the two fires are linked.
Arrest in Regent Park Stabbing
In a separate incident, a man was arrested in Toronto's Regent Park neighborhood after allegedly running around with a knife and stabbing someone late Saturday night. Toronto Police reported that the incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. in the Dundas and Sumach Streets area. According to a post on social media platform X, the suspect approached and stabbed the victim. It remains unclear whether the victim and suspect knew each other. Impaired Driving Crash
Toronto Police also investigated a crash in the city's east end, where an impaired driver allegedly struck a pole early Sunday morning. The collision happened around 3:30 a.m. on Victoria Park Avenue near Curlew Drive. Officers found a lone occupant in the vehicle, which later caught fire. No injuries were reported, but the driver was taken into custody and charged with impaired driving. The driver's name has not been released.
