A child was struck by a vehicle in northeast Calgary on Thursday afternoon, but fortunately sustained only minor injuries, police reported.

The collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. on a residential street in the community of Martindale. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene.
Police confirmed the child was alert and conscious when paramedics arrived. The child was transported to a local hospital as a precaution, with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Calgary Police Service is investigating the incident. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. No charges have been filed at this time.
