Calgary Police Seek Suspect in Stephen Avenue Assault

The Calgary Police Service is asking for the public's help to identify a suspect in an assault that occurred on Stephen Avenue in the early morning hours of June 14, 2026.

Incident Details

Police responded to reports of an assault at approximately 2:30 a.m. on June 14 in the 100 block of 8 Avenue S.W. The victim, a 34-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.

The suspect is described as a male with a slim build, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, jeans, and running shoes.

Investigation and Appeal

Investigators have reviewed surveillance footage and are releasing images of the suspect in hopes that someone can identify him. Police believe the suspect may have fled the area on foot after the assault.

“We are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recognizes the individual in the photos to come forward,” said Constable Mark Thompson of the Calgary Police Service. “Even the smallest detail could be crucial to our investigation.”
