A young boy was found injured after a hit-and-run incident in Parkland County, according to local authorities. The incident occurred late Tuesday evening, and the child was discovered by a passerby who immediately contacted emergency services.
Incident Details
Parkland County Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) responded to reports of an injured child near the intersection of Highway 16 and Range Road 20. Upon arrival, officers found a boy with non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported seeing a dark-colored vehicle fleeing the scene shortly before the child was found. The vehicle is believed to be a sedan, possibly with front-end damage.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are actively investigating the hit-and-run and are appealing to the public for any information. Police are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and homes.
“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage to come forward,” said RCMP Corporal James Smith. “Every piece of information helps us piece together what happened.”
