Windsor Police Make Arrests in Human Trafficking and Sexual Assault Investigation
Windsor police have taken significant action in a disturbing human trafficking case, arresting two suspects and actively searching for a third individual. The investigation, which involves serious charges of sexual assault and procurement of sexual services, highlights ongoing efforts to combat such crimes in the community.
Investigation Details and Allegations
The Windsor Police Service's child abuse and sexual assault (CASA) unit initiated this investigation last month after receiving a report of a sexual assault. According to police statements, a female victim was sexually assaulted by two men and a woman between January 27 and February 17 of this year. The victim had recently met the trio before the alleged incidents occurred.
Police allege that the victim's movements were controlled during this period, and she was coerced into participating in sexual acts in exchange for money. Furthermore, the victim reported being transported to various locations by the two male suspects and being told she would have to engage in sexual activity with clients.
Suspects and Charges
Two suspects have been identified and arrested in connection with this case:
- A 40-year-old man was located and arrested in Hamilton on March 5 by the OPP-led repeat offender parole enforcement unit
- A 47-year-old woman was arrested in east Windsor on March 12
Both individuals face multiple charges including sexual assault, human trafficking, and procurement of sexual services. They are currently in custody as the legal process moves forward.
Third Suspect Remains at Large
Police continue to search for a third suspect known only as JJ, who remains at large. Authorities describe him as a tall black male with short black hair, a moustache, and a beard. Investigators are urging anyone with information that might help identify this suspect to come forward immediately.
