Windsor Man Faces Dangerous Driving Charge Following Police Cruiser Collision
A 63-year-old Windsor man has been charged with dangerous driving after an incident that involved a collision with an unoccupied police cruiser, according to authorities. The event unfolded on Wednesday in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue, where Windsor police officers were responding to a call.
Details of the Incident
Bystanders reported to officers that a vehicle had struck their police cruiser while it was parked and unoccupied. Investigators later revealed in a news release on Thursday that a red sedan was involved in a series of dangerous maneuvers. The vehicle allegedly mounted the sidewalk, nearly struck a pedestrian, hit a guardrail, and then collided with the police cruiser.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene southbound on Glengarry Avenue following the collision. Police quickly located the heavily damaged sedan in the 900 block of Ouellette Avenue, where it had been abandoned.
Investigation and Arrest
