Vancouver Police Hunt White Range Rover in Fatal Downtown Eastside Hit-and-Run
VPD seeks Range Rover in fatal DTES hit-and-run

Vancouver police have issued a public appeal for information to locate a specific vehicle connected to a deadly hit-and-run incident in the city's Downtown Eastside last month. This case is part of a concerning series of three separate and unsolved hit-and-run collisions that have occurred in Vancouver within a recent seven-week period.

Search for White Range Rover After Fatal Collision

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is actively searching for a white Range Rover Evoque. Investigators say this vehicle failed to remain at the scene after striking a pedestrian on December 7, 2025.

The collision happened at approximately 7:23 p.m. at the intersection of East Hastings Street and Dunlevy Avenue. According to police, a man was crossing the street when he was hit by two vehicles traveling westbound.

While one driver stopped and cooperated with authorities, the other motorist, believed to be operating the white Range Rover, fled the area. Police have released both a photograph and video footage of the SUV traveling near the intersection of Main and Hastings streets.

"This vehicle likely sustained damage to the front fender or passenger-side mirror as a result of striking the pedestrian," said VPD spokeswoman Constable Megan Lui in an official statement. "If you’ve seen the vehicle, or know the whereabouts of the driver, we’re asking you to please call our investigators."

A Pattern of Unsolved Hit-and-Run Cases

This tragic event is not isolated. The VPD confirms it is one of three serious hit-and-run incidents that remain unsolved since late November, though they are not believed to be related.

On November 27, 2025, a 40-year-old man was seriously injured in another hit-and-run. The incident occurred between 7:00 and 7:10 p.m. near Graveley Street and Slocan Avenue. The victim was struck by a light-grey or silver 2010 to 2012 Acura RDX, dragged by the vehicle, and suffered life-altering injuries. He was reported to be in stable but serious condition in hospital.

In a third case, an 81-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle on December 22, 2025, at the intersection of Rupert Street and Euclid Avenue. The driver fled northbound on Rupert Street. While police have located and seized a vehicle connected to this crash, they continue to seek additional information from the public.
