Toronto Man Faces Sexual Assault Charge Following Alleged TTC Bus Stop Incident

Toronto Police have charged a 38-year-old man with sexual assault in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred on January 16th. According to authorities, officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious incident in the area of Kipling Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard West around 4 p.m. that Friday.

Details of the Alleged Assault

Police allege that a woman was waiting for a TTC bus when a man approached and sexually assaulted her. Investigators say a bystander intervened, prompting the suspect to cross the street and leave the area. Following their investigation, police identified and arrested a suspect on Tuesday.

Terrance James Noonan, 38, of Toronto, has been charged with sexual assault and failure to subsequently attend court. Authorities have released a photo of the accused due to concerns about possible additional victims. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-2200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Newmarket Teenager Charged with Hate-Motivated Crimes Against Jewish Community

In a separate case, York Regional Police have charged a 14-year-old Newmarket boy with multiple hate-motivated offences targeting Jewish institutions. Police were notified in November 2025 of several alleged incidents involving indecent communications directed at the Jewish community.

Allegations and Arrest Details

Investigators allege that a caller made antisemitic comments over the phone to staff members at synagogues, community centres, and Jewish schools across York Region and Toronto. On Wednesday, police executed a warrant at a Newmarket residence and arrested the suspect, who was allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance believed to be psilocybin.

The teenager, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces ten counts each of mischief relating to religious property and indecent communications, plus one count of possession of a Schedule III substance.

Police Response and Community Impact

York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween expressed pride in his investigators' work leading to the arrest. "Hate has no place in York Region, and we continue to stand with the Jewish community," MacSween stated. "We will always do our part to end hate, bigotry and discrimination in all forms."

The Chief added that he was "appalled and disappointed a youth feels emboldened to commit these offences," noting that these incidents underscore the need for commitment from all societal institutions to ensure youths remain on positive paths.

The original report also included several other police incidents across the Greater Toronto Area:
