Toronto Man Faces Multiple Criminal Harassment Charges for Alleged Filming Incidents
Toronto Police have charged a 45-year-old man with multiple counts of criminal harassment following a series of disturbing incidents where he allegedly filmed and confronted victims in downtown Toronto. Investigators are now expressing concern about the possibility of additional alleged victims in what they describe as an ongoing investigation.
Series of Alleged Harassment Incidents Detailed
Mohamed Askar Mohamed-Razik, a Toronto resident, faces four counts of criminal harassment stemming from incidents that occurred between May and October 2025. According to police statements released on Saturday, the alleged harassment began on June 8, 2025, when the accused reportedly targeted a victim at an event near Dundas Street West and Dufferin Street.
"It is alleged that the victim observed the accused filming her and asked the accused to stop," police stated. "The accused became confrontational and continued to harass the victim." Security personnel at the event allegedly instructed the man to leave the area, but he only departed after police were called to the scene. No injuries were reported in this initial incident.
Additional Alleged Victims Identified
The pattern of alleged harassment continued throughout the summer and fall of 2025. On August 21, 2025, around 2:45 p.m., police claim the same man approached a TTC employee working at Union Station. "The accused placed a cellphone very close to the employee's face while he filmed the interaction and made harassing comments to the employee about their ethnicity," according to police allegations.
Another incident occurred on September 27, 2025, around 3 p.m., when a victim was allegedly targeted while standing in line for a vendor at David Pecaut Square, located at 215 King Street West. "The accused was filming as he approached the victim," police allege. "The accused moved in closer to the victim when the victim asked him to stop filming. The accused refused to stop and continued to film the interaction, becoming more confrontational."
Police Officer Allegedly Targeted Twice
In a particularly concerning development, authorities allege that the same man approached a female police officer on two separate occasions while she was on duty. The first incident reportedly occurred on May 26, 2025, near Yonge Street and Shuter Street. "The accused began filming while making comments about the officer's appearance," according to police statements.
The man allegedly confronted the same officer again on October 4, 2025, while she was working in the Yonge Street and Dundas Street West area. "The accused approached the officer again making comments about the officer's appearance," police claim.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
Following their investigation, Toronto Police identified a suspect and arrested Mohamed Askar Mohamed-Razik on December 10, 2025. The 45-year-old Toronto resident was formally charged with four counts of criminal harassment and appeared in court on Wednesday.
Out of concern for the possibility of other alleged victims in what police describe as an "ongoing" investigation, authorities have released an image of the accused. Investigators are urging anyone with information regarding these incidents to come forward.
