Homicide Unit Takes Over Northeast Edmonton Investigation
The Edmonton Police Service has launched a homicide investigation following a distressing discovery at a northeast residence on Saturday evening. Officers responded to a weapons complaint and found one man dead and a woman with life-threatening injuries.
Police Discover Deceased Male and Injured Female
According to police reports, officers were called to a home near 160A Avenue and 83 Street just after 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2025. Upon arrival, they made two concerning discoveries inside the residence.
First, they located the body of a 23-year-old male under circumstances police have deemed suspicious. Additionally, they found a 53-year-old female suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries.
Emergency Medical Services personnel immediately treated the injured woman at the scene before transporting her to hospital for emergency care. Her current condition has not been disclosed by authorities.
Arrest Made as Investigation Intensifies
During their initial response, officers took a 25-year-old male into custody at the residence. Police have confirmed that all three individuals involved—the deceased man, the injured woman, and the arrested man—were known to each other.
The case has now been transferred to the EPS Homicide Section, indicating the seriousness of the investigation. Homicide detectives have taken charge of the ongoing inquiry as they work to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the man's death.
