Mississauga Stabbing Victim Drives Self to Aid After Christmas Eve Attack
Suspect sought in unprovoked Mississauga stabbing on Christmas Eve

Peel Regional Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in what they describe as an unprovoked stabbing in Mississauga on Christmas Eve.

Details of the Christmas Eve Attack

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2025, in the area of Church and Queen Streets. Police report that the victim, a 67-year-old man, was walking along a trail when he was approached by an unknown male.

The suspect demanded valuables from the victim. After the victim complied with the demand, the assailant allegedly stabbed him multiple times before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

Victim's Remarkable Response to Injury

In a concerning turn of events, the stabbing victim found himself without a cellphone to call for emergency assistance. Demonstrating significant resolve, the injured man drove himself to a nearby paramedic division to seek help.

From there, he was transported to a local trauma centre for treatment. Fortunately, police have reported that his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.

Search for the Suspect Continues

The suspect remains at large. He is described as a white man in his 30s who was last seen wearing a green or blue jacket.

Investigators are urging anyone who was in the vicinity of Church and Queen Streets in Mississauga on Thursday evening to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who may have witnessed the event or who possess relevant dashcam, security, or cellphone footage.

Separate Investigation into Kitchener Garage Fire

In an unrelated incident, Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a residential fire in Kitchener that broke out in the early hours of Christmas Day.

Emergency services responded to a report of a fire on December 25 in the area of Dumfries Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a detached garage at a home fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and damage was contained to the garage. The residence was unoccupied at the time, and no physical injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
