Police in Surrey are investigating a series of alarming incidents that occurred on Sunday morning, including a report of shots fired at a residence and two separate vehicle fires. Authorities have not yet determined if these events are connected to the ongoing extortion attempts that have troubled the city.
Sequence of Sunday Morning Events
The series of events began just before 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Officers first responded to a vehicle fire located in the 10200-block of 125th Street. Mere minutes later, police received reports that shots had been fired at a home in the 11000-block of 140A Street. The third incident was reported approximately half an hour after the initial fire, involving another vehicle blaze on Regal Drive near Regent Place.
Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton confirmed that there were no injuries reported in any of the three incidents. Houghton stated that all events appear to be connected, prompting a coordinated investigation.
Joint Police Investigation Underway
The investigation is a collaborative effort between the RCMP operational support unit and Surrey Police Service officers. According to Staff Sgt. Houghton, police will be present at all three crime scenes to collect physical and digital evidence.
"The motive for the shots fired and two vehicle fires remain under investigation and investigators will be liaising with police partners to determine if there are any connections to other files," Houghton said. He explicitly noted that no extortion-related links have been established at this time, despite the city's recent history with such crimes.

Investigators are urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward. Police are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who may have witnessed suspicious activity, have relevant video footage from the areas, or have any information regarding the events of Sunday morning.
