According to an RCMP news release, the chain of events began on Wednesday, November 5, at approximately 1:20 p.m., when the Nipawin RCMP received a request to conduct a wellness check at a residence in Snowden. Upon arrival at the home, officers discovered the body of 69-year-old Diane Searcy.
Investigators did not publicly disclose a cause of death. At the scene, police arrested 68-year-old Kevin Searcy. The RCMP confirmed that the accused and the victim were in a relationship.
Court Appearance Scheduled for Accused
Kevin Searcy was formally charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of his spouse. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance in Melfort provincial court on Friday, November 7, 2025.
