Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following the death of a man in Guelph. The incident occurred on Sunday, prompting the police watchdog to launch a probe into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.

The SIU was notified after a 34-year-old man died during an interaction with Guelph Police Service officers.
