Second Arson Attack in Two Days at Montreal Home, Police Investigate
Second Arson Attempt at Montreal Home in Two Days

Montreal police are actively investigating after a north-end home was targeted by arsonists for the second time in just 48 hours, raising serious concerns in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood.

Second Fire Extinguished by Police

In the early hours of Friday, November 28, 2025, officers were dispatched to a residence on Beau-Bois Ave. around 12:30 a.m. Arriving before the fire department, the police took immediate action. They used a fire extinguisher to put out a blaze that had been set at the home's garage door, preventing what could have been a much more serious incident.

A Repeat Attack on the Same Property

This alarming event marks the second deliberate fire at the same address within a short timeframe. Just two days prior, on Wednesday night around 10:20 p.m., assailants set a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home on fire. The vehicle sustained minor damage, and at least one suspect was seen fleeing the scene before authorities could arrive.

Arson Squad Takes Over Investigation

The discovery of flammable materials at the scene of the Friday morning fire strongly indicates it was also a deliberate act. As a result, the case has been handed over to the specialized arson squad for a thorough investigation. According to police spokesperson Florence Stafford, investigators will be questioning witnesses and checking for any potential local surveillance camera footage that could help identify the perpetrators.

No injuries were reported in either incident, and authorities had not made any arrests by sunrise on Friday. The repeated targeting of the property has left the community on edge as the search for the culprits continues.
