A 35-year-old Sarnia man has been charged with attempted murder after a break-in arrest on Monday evening. The Sarnia Police Service responded to a report of a break and enter in progress at a residence on Exmouth Street around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect inside the home, and a confrontation ensued. The suspect allegedly assaulted a resident with a weapon before being subdued by police. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at a local hospital. The accused, whose name has not been released pending a bail hearing, faces charges including attempted murder, break and enter, and assault with a weapon. He is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
