Regina Police Lay Multiple Charges in Homicide Investigation Following Discovery of Body in Vehicle

The Regina Police Service has announced serious criminal charges against a 26-year-old man in connection with a disturbing incident earlier this month that resulted in the discovery of a deceased male inside a vehicle.

Five Serious Charges Filed Against Accused

According to official police statements released on Friday, the accused now faces five distinct criminal charges related to the January incident. The charges include:

  • Accessory after the fact to murder
  • Indignity to a human body
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a firearm when prohibited

The most serious of these charges, accessory after the fact to murder, indicates police believe the accused was involved in concealing or assisting someone after a homicide occurred.

Police Investigation Details Revealed

The investigation began in the early morning hours of January 19 when Regina Police Service officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Saskatchewan Drive and Albert Street at approximately 3 a.m.

The vehicle in question evaded police during this initial encounter, according to official reports. However, the situation escalated when the RPS airplane crew later located the abandoned vehicle on the 1400 block of Princess Street.

When officers arrived at the scene and searched the vehicle, they made the grim discovery of a deceased adult male victim inside the car. Police have since classified the death as a homicide, indicating they believe the victim was murdered.

Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal

The Regina Police Service continues to investigate this homicide case and is actively seeking additional information from the public. Investigators have confirmed that all occupants had fled the vehicle before police arrived at the Princess Street location.

Authorities are urging anyone with information that could assist their investigation to contact the Regina Police Service directly at 306-777-6500 or reach out to Regina Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

This case represents another serious criminal investigation for Regina law enforcement as they work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the victim's death and the events that led to the discovery of his body in the vehicle.
