Major Firearms and Drug Bust in Trent Lakes Leads to Multiple Charges
The Ontario Provincial Police have made a significant arrest following the execution of a search warrant in Trent Lakes, Ontario, which resulted in the discovery of an extensive cache of firearms and illicit substances. According to official reports, officers from the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit conducted the operation on Wednesday at a residence located on Bessie Avenue.
Substantial Seizure Includes Dozens of Firearms and Cocaine
During the search, law enforcement officials allegedly uncovered fifty-three long rifles along with two hundred seventy-eight grams of cocaine. The investigation was initiated earlier this month after authorities received information regarding an individual who was suspected of possessing firearms despite being under a legal prohibition from owning any weapons.
Joshua Fawcett, thirty-nine years old, has been formally charged with multiple offenses including three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, careless storage of firearms, possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking—specifically cocaine—and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime exceeding five thousand dollars.
In addition to the firearms and narcotics, police reported seizing various ammunition, ammunition reloader devices, digital scales, multiple cellphones, and over five thousand dollars in Canadian currency. Separate Retail Theft Investigation Results in Pickering Arrest
In an unrelated case, York Regional Police have apprehended a twenty-three-year-old Pickering man in connection with a retail theft incident in King, Ontario. The alleged theft occurred on Monday at a retailer near King Road and William Street, where the suspect reportedly stole a quantity of beauty supplies before fleeing the premises.
Alex Cioriia now faces charges of theft over five thousand dollars and possession of property obtained by crime over five thousand dollars. Following his arrest, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence where they allegedly recovered additional stolen property. Police have released an image of the accused due to concerns that there may be additional victims involved in similar incidents.
Random Assault on TTC Streetcar Leads to Serious Charges
Meanwhile, Toronto Police have charged a forty-seven-year-old man following a violent random assault on a TTC streetcar last month. The incident took place on March sixteenth around seven fifteen in the evening near Spadina Avenue and College Street.
According to police allegations, the suspect randomly punched another transit rider in the face before kicking the individual, causing the victim to fall out of the open door onto the transit stop median. The assailant then fled the scene on foot, leaving the victim with serious injuries that required hospitalization.
Shaun Dwayne Eubank of Toronto has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and failure to comply with a probation order. Investigators are appealing to the public for any information that could assist with the ongoing investigation into this disturbing transit attack.
