Ottawa Man Arrested in North Grenville Drug Raid Faces Trafficking Charges
A 44-year-old Ottawa man, who was sought by several area police forces, has been arrested in North Grenville by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and now faces serious drug trafficking charges. The arrest occurred this week following an extensive investigation into cocaine sales across Leeds and Grenville, located south of Ottawa.
Significant Seizure of Drugs and Weapons
During the execution of a search warrant at a motel on Highway 43 on Wednesday, police officers made a substantial seizure. They confiscated more than 167 grams of suspected cocaine along with a quantity of suspected crack cocaine. In addition to the drugs, authorities seized over $5,000 in cash, nearly 20 canisters of bear spray, a spiked bat, and various other items commonly associated with drug trafficking operations.
Charges and Arrest Details
The individuals arrested were identified as Brian Workman, 44, of Ottawa and Alexis Levere, 21, of North Dundas Township. Both have been charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Workman was also wanted on arrest warrants issued by two other police services, adding to the severity of his legal situation.
Following their arrest, both accused individuals have been remanded in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings. The OPP initiated this investigation in late 2025, focusing on the illicit sale of cocaine in the regions south of Ottawa, which underscores the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the area.
