A model and social media influencer has been accused of orchestrating a sophisticated scheme to defraud older men through dating applications, according to authorities in Los Angeles. Adva Lavie, 28, who also goes by the name Mia Ventura, allegedly used her online presence to gain the trust of victims before burglarizing their homes.
Details of the Alleged Crimes
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has charged Lavie with multiple felonies, including two counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information, two counts of grand theft, and two counts of first-degree residential burglary. Prosecutors claim that between 2023 and 2025, Lavie cultivated relationships with older men in the Los Angeles area, posing as a girlfriend and travel companion to access their residences.
Modus Operandi and Victims
Authorities allege that Lavie, described as a brunette model with appearances in publications like Playboy and Penthouse, leveraged her beauty and social media influence to connect with victims. Once she gained entry to their homes, she is accused of stealing cash, gold, and luxury designer items. The sheriff's department first announced her as a wanted suspect in October 2025, linking her to a series of residential burglaries across Los Angeles County.
Legal Proceedings and Potential Consequences
Lavie has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently not in custody but is under supervision with an ankle monitor. She has been ordered to stay away from the named victims. Her arraignment is scheduled for April 6, and if convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum sentence of up to 11 years and eight months in state prison.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about online safety and fraud in the digital age, particularly involving vulnerable populations. Law enforcement continues to investigate, urging potential victims to come forward as the legal process unfolds.
