Toronto police have made an arrest following a disturbing series of sexual assaults that occurred on New Year's Eve in the city's west end. The suspect, who was out on probation at the time of the alleged attacks, now faces a slew of serious charges.
Details of the New Year's Eve Assaults
The incidents began just after noon on Wednesday, December 31st. Police were initially called to the area of Dundas Street West and Kipling Avenue for a reported armed robbery and break-and-enter. According to investigators, the accused first approached a woman in the area, sexually assaulted her, and then fled with her cellphone.
In a frightening escalation shortly after, the same suspect allegedly followed a second victim into a nearby condominium complex. Police state the man forced his way into her unit and sexually assaulted her. A third victim, who was inside the unit at the time, was also sexually assaulted during this same incident.
Suspect Charged While on Probation
The man taken into custody is 32-year-old Davian Guy-Lynch, who is listed as having no fixed address. He faces a total of nine charges, which include:
- Two counts of sexual assault
- Two counts of assault
- Two counts of forcible confinement
- Criminal harassment
- Break and enter
- Robbery
Significantly, Guy-Lynch was also charged with three counts of failing to comply with a probation order, confirming he was under court-ordered supervision during the alleged crimes. He appeared in court on New Year's Day at 9:30 a.m.

Authorities have expressed concern that there may be more victims who have not yet come forward. Investigators are urging anyone with information about these incidents or who may have been a victim to contact them immediately.
