A 57-year-old man is facing multiple charges following an unprovoked stabbing on Rideau Street in Ottawa. The Ottawa Police Service reported that the incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, in the 300 block of Rideau Street. The suspect allegedly approached the victim, who has not been identified, and stabbed them, causing serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges Laid

In a news release, police identified the suspect as Mohamed Elhilo. He has been charged with one count each of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and carrying a concealed weapon. Elhilo was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face these charges.
