London, Ont. Man Faces Multiple Firearm Charges Following Unreported Shooting Investigation
London man faces multiple firearm charges after shooting probe

A London man is confronting multiple serious firearm charges after city police concluded an investigation into a shooting incident that was never reported to authorities.

The investigation began when London Police Service officials received information about a shooting that had occurred but hadn't been formally reported. Following thorough investigative work, authorities identified a suspect and executed a search warrant at a residence in the city's east end.

The evidence seized during the search was substantial:

  • A prohibited firearm
  • Multiple rounds of ammunition
  • A prohibited over-capacity magazine
  • A quantity of suspected cocaine

The 25-year-old London resident now faces a series of serious charges including possession of a prohibited firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized.

Additional charges relate to the alleged possession of a prohibited device—specifically the over-capacity magazine—and possession of ammunition while prohibited from doing so. The suspect also faces charges for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused made a court appearance on Monday to answer to these charges, marking another case in what police describe as ongoing efforts to combat gun violence in the community.

This case highlights the concerning trend of unreported shooting incidents and the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in addressing illegal firearm possession in Canadian cities.
