Police Seek Three Suspects Following King Home Invasion
York Regional Police have launched a public appeal for information as they work to identify three male suspects connected to a home invasion that occurred in King, Ontario. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, January 22, 2026, and involved an armed confrontation with the homeowner.
Details of the Early Morning Incident
According to police reports, the home invasion occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. in the area of King and Mill Roads. Three suspects forcibly entered a residence, where they were confronted by the homeowner. One of the intruders threatened the homeowner with a firearm during the encounter.
The homeowner and his family managed to hide within the residence until the suspects fled the scene. What makes this case particularly unusual, according to investigators, is that the suspects left without taking any property or making any demands of the occupants.
Suspect Descriptions and Investigation
All three suspects are described as male and were seen wearing dark clothing with dark balaclavas covering their faces. They fled the scene in a dark-coloured sedan. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported among the residents.

Police confirmed that one driver died from injuries sustained in the collision after being transported to hospital. The other driver involved remained hospitalized with serious injuries. The major collision investigations unit has taken over the case, and Ninth Line was closed for an extended period to facilitate a thorough investigation.
Authorities advised the public to avoid the area and expect significant delays while the investigation continues.
