The New Brunswick police oversight body has concluded its investigation into a Fredericton police officer involved in an arrest that left a woman injured, determining that no criminal charges will be filed against the officer.
The incident, which took place during an arrest operation last fall, drew attention after the woman involved required medical treatment for injuries sustained during the apprehension. The case was subsequently referred to the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) for independent review, a standard procedure in such circumstances.
