FBI Seizes $40M in Motorcycles Linked to Fugitive Ex-Olympian Ryan Wedding
FBI seizes $40M in bikes from fugitive ex-Olympian

The FBI has released striking images of a multi-million dollar motorcycle collection seized in Mexico, believed to be the property of a former Canadian Olympic snowboarder now wanted as an alleged international drug kingpin.

From Olympic Glory to FBI's Most Wanted

Ryan Wedding, a 44-year-old former Olympic athlete, is currently one of the FBI's ten most wanted fugitives. Authorities allege he runs a sophisticated transnational drug trafficking operation that moves cocaine from Colombia, through Mexico and Southern California, and ultimately to markets in Canada and beyond.

The investigation took a dramatic turn this month when Mexican authorities, collaborating with the FBI, Los Angeles Police Department, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), executed a series of search warrants. The result was the seizure of a vast trove of assets linked to Wedding.

A $40 Million Motorcycle Collection and More

The most visually staggering part of the haul is a collection of dozens of high-end motorcycles with an estimated combined value of $40 million USD. The FBI's Los Angeles field office publicized the seizure on social media on December 29, 2025, alongside photos of the bikes.

However, the motorcycles were just part of the story. Items were seized from four properties in Mexico City and the surrounding state of Mexico. According to Mexico's Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the total inventory included:

  • 62 luxury motorcycles
  • Two vehicles
  • Artwork
  • Two Olympic medals
  • Drugs
  • Various other items

While Mexican officials last week referred to items seized from a former Olympian on the FBI's list, they did not name Wedding directly. He remains the only fugitive on the top ten list who fits that description.

Violent Charges and a Canadian Lawyer's Role

Wedding faces a litany of serious charges in a Los Angeles federal court, including running a continuing criminal enterprise and murder in connection with that enterprise. In a disturbing development from November, new charges allege he ordered the killing of a witness in the federal case. The victim was reportedly shot multiple times in the head at a Colombian restaurant in January.

The case also has a significant Canadian connection beyond Wedding himself. Deepak Paradkar, a 62-year-old lawyer from Brampton, Ontario, was recently granted bail ahead of an extradition hearing. Paradkar is accused of playing a role in Wedding's alleged drug operation, with allegations including that he counseled Wedding to kill a witness.

The U.S. Department of State is offering a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to Wedding's arrest and/or conviction. Authorities believe he is currently hiding in Mexico under the protection of the powerful Sinaloa cartel.

This international seizure underscores the extensive resources allegedly accumulated by the fugitive and the broad, cross-border cooperation aimed at bringing him to justice.
