Edmonton Police Seek Two Suspects in Convenience Store Stabbing

Edmonton police are seeking two suspects after a midday stabbing at a west-end convenience store last month. The incident occurred on May 21, 2026, when officers responded to a noon report of a robbery at a convenience store in the area of 157 Street and Stony Plain Road, according to a Tuesday news release.

Police stated that a man and a woman entered the store and began shoplifting items. When a 44-year-old convenience store clerk approached them, a confrontation ensued. During the struggle, the clerk was stabbed. He was treated on scene by EMS paramedics and transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Suspect Descriptions

Police describe the male suspect as wearing a black t-shirt with white graphics on the front, black track pants, black boots, and carrying a black backpack. The female suspect was wearing maroon-colored pants and jacket, black boots, and carrying a black bag.

“Public safety requires a collaboration between police and the community,” said EPS Const. Roy Pickell in the news release. “We’re hopeful that with the public’s assistance we can identify the individuals responsible.”
