Edmonton police are searching for a suspect who violently attacked a delivery driver during a robbery in downtown Edmonton on May 26, 2026. The incident occurred in the area of 101 Street and 107 Avenue, according to a news release from the Edmonton Police Service.
Details of the Robbery
The victim, a male delivery driver in his 30s, was delivering food items when he was approached by an unknown male suspect. The suspect demanded the driver's belongings and then assaulted him, causing non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene with stolen property, including the victim's personal items and the delivery vehicle.
The stolen vehicle was later recovered by police, but the suspect remains at large. The victim was treated at the scene by emergency medical services and did not require hospitalization.
Suspect Description
Police describe the suspect as a man in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, and a black face mask. Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
In a statement, Acting Staff Sergeant John Smith said, "This was a brazen and violent attack on a hardworking individual just doing his job. We urge the public to help us identify this suspect."
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Police are also searching for a witness who may have captured the incident on video. A passerby is believed to have filmed the robbery on a smartphone before leaving the area. "We believe this witness may have crucial evidence that could lead to an arrest," Smith added.
