Calgary Police Charge Three in Ogden Murder, Pursue Fourth Suspect
Calgary police have made significant progress in a homicide case from last year, arresting three individuals believed to be responsible for the death of a man in the Ogden neighborhood. Law enforcement authorities are actively searching for a fourth suspect in connection with the incident.
Details of the Incident
On December 10, 2025, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 7000 block of 20th Street S.E. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased man outside his vehicle, with evidence of bullet damage visible on the SUV. The scene, captured in images, showed impacts on the window and fender, highlighting the violent nature of the event.
Arrests and Charges
With assistance from the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service, three people were taken into custody. Two of them, Aken Bolakok Aken, 23, and Ayomide Opemipo Adeyinka, both from Edmonton, were initially released but later re-arrested. They now face charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. A 17-year-old, who cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, remains in custody and is charged with the same offenses.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation took a turn when RCMP officers, responding to a vehicle stuck in a ditch on Highway 5 near Blue River on March 12, 2026, identified two occupants linked to the shooting. A third person was arrested but released after being cleared of involvement. Police have issued Canada-wide warrants for Yahya Abdullahi, 22, who is wanted for murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Abdullahi is described as having dark skin, standing five feet nine inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Public Appeal
Authorities believe Abdullahi may have connections to Northern and Western Canada, potentially hiding in Edmonton, the Lower Mainland of B.C., or the Northwest Territories. The Calgary Police Service urges anyone with information to contact them at 403-266-1234 or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
The case underscores ongoing efforts to address violent crime in Calgary, with court appearances scheduled for the accused as the search for the fourth suspect continues.
