Alabama Family Tragedy: Mother, Pregnant Teen, and Child Found Murdered in Home
In a devastating incident in Alabama, a mother and her two children, including a pregnant teenager, were discovered dead in their home on Monday, according to police reports. The victims have been identified as Lisa Fields, 46, Keziah Luker, 17, and Thomas Cordelle Jr., 12. Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch stated that officers found Fields and Cordelle stabbed, while Luker was shot. An 18-month-old child was found unharmed at the scene.
Discovery of the Crime Scene
Officials revealed that the father of the unborn child and the 18-month-old was working offshore and had been unable to contact the family. He sent a relative to check on them, who made the grim discovery. The father had noticed Luker's phone activate overnight via a Life360 notification, prompting him to alert another family member, who then found the bodies, collected the toddler, and called authorities.
Police Investigation and Details
Authorities described the attack as targeted but not suspected to be related to domestic violence. There were no signs of forced entry, and the victims were found in different rooms, bound with zip ties or flex cuffs. The house had been ransacked. Sheriff Burch commented to local media, "They had a plan when they came in." Police are actively pursuing suspects and report having positive leads in the case.
Family's Heartbreaking Response
Luker's father expressed his anguish to local media, struggling to come to terms with the loss. "No matter what the circumstance was, I mean a child, two children, lost their life. A seventeen-year-old and a twelve-year-old over senselessness and a child that had a child in her stomach," he said. "We lost everyone for nothing." The community is reeling from this senseless violence, as investigators continue their search for answers.
