A violent assault at a tire manufacturing plant in central Japan left fifteen people injured on Friday, after a man armed with a knife and a corrosive substance, believed to be bleach, launched an attack on his coworkers.
Details of the Factory Assault
The incident occurred at a factory operated by the Yokohama Rubber Co. in the city of Mishima, located in Shizuoka prefecture west of Tokyo. According to the Fujisan Nanto Fire Department, the assailant stabbed eight individuals with a knife. Five of those stabbing victims were reported to be in serious condition and were among the eight people transported to hospitals for urgent care.
In a further escalation, the attacker also threw a corrosive liquid at other employees. The fire department confirmed that seven additional people were injured by the bleach and required hospital treatment for their injuries.

Shizuoka prefectural police swiftly responded to the scene and arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. While officials have not released the suspect's name or a possible motive, details of his alarming appearance emerged from local media.
