Windsor police have arrested two individuals accused of grooming and sexually exploiting underage girls, according to a news release issued Thursday. The arrests follow a months-long investigation by the Windsor Police Service's Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Suspects Face Multiple Charges
Police identified the suspects as a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from Windsor. They face charges including sexual assault, sexual exploitation, and making child pornography. The accused were taken into custody on Wednesday and are scheduled to appear in court later this month.
According to Detective Constable Aaron Brown, the investigation began after a tip from the public. “We believe there may be more victims,” Brown said. “We encourage anyone with information to come forward.”
Police Urge Public to Report Suspicious Activity
The Windsor Police Service is reminding parents to monitor their children's online activity. “Grooming often starts with seemingly harmless conversations,” said Constable Sarah West. “We urge parents to talk to their kids about online safety.”
The investigation is ongoing, and police are not ruling out additional charges. The names of the accused have not been released to protect the identity of the victims.
