Manitoba RCMP are asking for the public's help to locate a missing man from the Bifrost area. Jamie “Swainy” Gislason, 55, was last seen on June 30 and was expected to be in Gimli for Canada Day celebrations on July 1, according to police.
Details of the disappearance
Gislason was reported missing after he failed to arrive at the Canada Day event in Gimli, where family and friends expected him. Police have not disclosed any details about his last known location or the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. An undated photo released by RCMP shows Gislason with a beard and glasses.
RCMP are asking anyone with information about Gislason's whereabouts to contact the Gimli RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers. The search is ongoing, and police have not indicated any signs of foul play.
Community concerns
The Bifrost and Gimli communities are closely knit, and the disappearance has raised concerns among residents. Gislason is described as a familiar figure in the area. Police have not provided a description of what he was last wearing or any vehicle he may have been driving.
This is a developing story, and further updates are expected as the investigation continues. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
