Police in eastern England have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after a 3-year-old boy ended up in a crocodile enclosure at a zoo near Cambridge. The incident occurred on Thursday at Johnsons Zoo in Old Hurst, Cambridgeshire.
Details of the Incident
Cambridgeshire Police responded to the zoo in the early afternoon following reports that the toddler had entered the crocodile enclosure. The boy was quickly rescued and transported to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, approximately 25 miles away. He remains in critical but stable condition.
Arrest and Investigation
A man from the neighboring county of Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Detective Inspector Verity McCann stated that the man and the child are not believed to be known to each other. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
