Two More Arrested in Toronto Hotel Assault and Robbery

Two more individuals have been arrested and charged following an alleged assault and robbery that occurred last month at a downtown Toronto hotel. The incident took place on April 25, 2026, in the Bay Street and Adelaide Street West area, where a verbal altercation escalated into physical violence.

Details of the Incident

According to Toronto Police, the victim was waiting to check in when a group of five men, who were ahead in line, became involved in a dispute. The argument turned physical, and the suspects allegedly assaulted the victim and stole personal property before fleeing on foot.

Three men were initially arrested earlier this month. Now, two additional suspects have been taken into custody over the past two weeks.

Arrests and Charges

Nadeem Ali, 32, of Oakville, was arrested on May 19 and charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm. Mahad Awan, 24, of Brampton, was arrested on Monday and faces the same charges.

Previously arrested and charged were Piraveen Jegathesvaran, 30, of Whitby; Gurman Bhandal, 25, of Caledon; and Harneet Dhindsa, 25, of Blue Mountains. All five men are accused of involvement in the assault and robbery.

Boater Missing Near Cherry Beach

In a separate incident, Toronto Police are searching for a missing boater after an inflatable vessel capsized Wednesday afternoon near Cherry Beach. The boat, carrying two people and a dog, overturned around 1:45 p.m. on Lake Ontario.

A man in his 40s and the dog were rescued and taken to a hospital. The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries. As of 6 p.m., the marine unit continued to search for the second boater.

Police confirmed the rescue on social media, stating that the dog was also saved. The search remains active.

Youths Injured in Mississauga Altercation

In Mississauga, an altercation between two male youths led to a heavy police presence Wednesday evening. Peel Regional Police responded to the incident around 4:40 p.m. near Dundas Street West and Erindale Station Road, close to the University of Toronto Mississauga campus.

Both youths were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police indicated that no suspects are outstanding based on current evidence.
