Trump Attacks Supreme Court Over Tariff Ruling, Criticizes Judge in Powell Probe
Trump Slams Supreme Court, Judge in Federal Reserve Investigation

Former President Donald Trump unleashed a fierce verbal assault on the United States Supreme Court this week, condemning its recent decision to invalidate the majority of his "emergency" tariff measures. In a parallel development, he also targeted a federal judge who quashed subpoenas connected to a criminal investigation examining Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

Trump's Tariff Fury and Supreme Court Rebuke

In an extensive post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed profound disappointment with the Supreme Court's ruling, which he characterized as a significant setback for national economic interests. "The decision that mattered most to me was TARIFFS! The Court knew where I stood, how badly I wanted this Victory for our Country, and instead decided to, potentially, give away Trillions of Dollars to Countries and Companies who have been taking advantage of the United States for decades," Trump wrote.

He specifically commended the three conservative justices—Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, and Samuel Alito—who supported his position in the tariffs case. However, he directed sharp criticism at the remaining six members of the court, accusing them of partisan alignment. "The Democrats on the Court always 'stick together,' no matter how strong a case is put before them—There is rarely even a minor 'waver.' But Republicans do not do this. They openly disrespect the Presidents who nominate them to the highest position in the Land, a Justice of the United States Supreme Court, and go out of their way, with bad and wrongful rulings and intentions, to prove how 'honest,' 'independent,' and 'legitimate' they are," Trump asserted.

Election Fraud Claims Resurface

Trump also revisited his unsubstantiated allegations of fraud in the 2020 presidential election, referencing his failed attempt to have the Supreme Court overturn Joe Biden's victory. "Our Country was unnecessarily RANSACKED by the United States Supreme Court, which has become little more than a weaponized and unjust Political Organization. The sad thing is, they will only get worse! They wouldn't even call out The Rigged Presidential Election of 2020," he stated.

Despite anticipating backlash for his comments, Trump emphasized his perceived duty to speak out. "All I can do, as President, is call them out for their bad behavior! This statement about the United States Supreme Court will cause me nothing but problems in the future, but I feel it is my obligation to speak the TRUTH," he declared.

Federal Judge Faces Trump's Wrath in Powell Investigation

In a subsequent post, Trump turned his attention to Judge James Boasberg, who blocked subpoenas as part of a Justice Department investigation into alleged misuse of taxpayer funds during renovations at the Federal Reserve's headquarters. Boasberg's ruling stated, "There is abundant evidence that the subpoenas' dominant (if not sole) purpose is to harass and pressure Powell either to yield to the President or to resign and make way for a Fed Chair who will. The Government has offered no evidence whatsoever that Powell committed any crime other than displeasing the President."

This decision significantly hindered the criminal probe targeting Powell, provoking Trump's ire. "I strongly criticized Jerome 'Too Late' for his horrible performance throughout his tenure, which is either gross incompetence, total dishonesty, or both, and, in return for this well justified criticism, get viciously and wrongfully blamed by, as usual, a Wacky, Nasty, Crooked, and totally Out of Control Judge, named James Boasberg, a man who suffers from the highest level of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS), and has been 'after' my people, and me, for years," Trump wrote.

Calls for Judicial Discipline and Bias Allegations

Trump further demanded that Boasberg be removed from all related cases and face disciplinary action, alleging political bias in the judge's decisions. "Boasberg would do better to focus on Justice and Fairness, not his own, and the Democrats', Political Agenda, which has become LEGENDARY! Much like 'prosecutor' Deranged Jack Smith, and many others, Boasberg is a disgrace," Trump added.

This reference to Jack Smith highlights Trump's ongoing attacks on the former special counsel, who prosecuted him for retaining classified documents after leaving office in January 2021 and for efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Trump has consistently called for Smith's prosecution, framing these legal actions as politically motivated.

Trump's dual-front offensive against the judiciary underscores his continued influence in political discourse and his willingness to challenge institutional authorities. The Supreme Court's tariff ruling and the blocked subpoenas in the Powell investigation represent key legal battles that have galvanized his base while drawing criticism from opponents who view his statements as undermining judicial integrity.
