Trump Tells G7 Leaders 'I'm the Boss' Amid Laughter
Trump Declares 'I'm the Boss' at G7 Summit

At the G7 summit of world powers in France, US President Donald Trump left no doubt about who he believed was in charge, declaring 'I'm the boss' as he entered a working session on the final day of the three-day event.

Trump's Bold Entrance

Trump made the comment as he strode into the morning session in Evian-les-Bains, France, with other leaders already seated. The remark drew laughter from the room.

French President Emmanuel Macron, serving as host and chair of the summit, appeared to take the comment in good humor. 'How are you?' Macron asked Trump.

'Good, thank you,' replied Trump, a former tycoon and host of 'The Apprentice' with its catchphrase 'You're fired!', as he finally took his seat.

Dominating the Summit

Fresh from securing an accord to end the war with Iran and celebrating his 80th birthday, Trump's presence has dominated the summit in the spa town of Evian on Lake Geneva.

French officials were satisfied that the mercurial US president stayed for the entire event and signed on to the G7 communique, in contrast to the previous gathering in Canada where he left early.

In an unusual gesture, Macron invited Trump to dinner at the Palace of Versailles outside Paris after the summit winds down on Wednesday afternoon. Macron, under pressure to show he is not fawning over Trump, has already said the evening at Versailles will not be a 'gala' dinner.
