Calgary Police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with a series of sexual assaults in Fish Creek Park this spring. The incidents occurred near the Sue Higgins Bridge and Mallard Point, close to the community of Queensland.
Details of the Assaults
Three women reported being sexually assaulted over their clothing between April 20 and May 23. On April 20, two assaults were reported. The first occurred around 5 p.m., with the suspect wearing black pants, a red hooded sweatshirt, and a white backpack with colorful spots. He was reportedly playing music from a speaker while riding an e-scooter.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. the same day, a female jogger reported being assaulted near Mallard Point by a man on an e-scooter heading toward Douglasdale. Police believe the man had been observing the woman near the on-site bathrooms before the incident.
A third assault was reported on May 23, involving a female jogger near the Sue Higgins Bridge and Mallard Point.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as approximately six feet tall, in his late teens or early 20s, with shaggy blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a zipper and blue jeans, and was riding an e-scooter or a black BMX bike.
Police Chief Katie McLellan stated that the investigation is a priority. “It is a big concern. We’re moving forward with intelligence and evidence as we speak right now,” she said during a May press conference.
