The Edmonton Police Service has released images of a suspect vehicle believed to be connected to a fatal shooting in north Edmonton earlier this year. Investigators are now seeking information about a black 2012-2015 Audi Q5, which is believed to be the suspect vehicle in the homicide of Alinur Mohamed Mussa.
The investigation stems from a shooting on Feb. 16, 2026, when EPS officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area of 109 Street and 166 Avenue. When officers arrived, they located an injured man. Lifesaving measures were performed by both police and EMS before the man was transported to hospital, where he later died.
An autopsy conducted on Feb. 19 confirmed that Mussa died from gunshot wounds and that his death was a homicide. Police are now asking the public for help identifying the occupants or movements of the black Audi Q5, which may have been in the area between noon and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 16.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or who may have seen it in the Castle Downs area is urged to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
Investigators emphasize that even the smallest detail could be crucial to solving this case. The Edmonton Police Service continues to work diligently to bring closure to the family of the victim and to ensure justice is served.
