Pew Poll: Most Oppose Naming Buildings After Trump

A recent poll conducted by the Pew Research Center reveals that a significant majority of Americans, including most Republicans, are opposed to naming government buildings after former President Donald Trump while he is still in office.

According to the survey, only 17% of Republican respondents considered it acceptable to name buildings after Trump during his presidency, while 83% expressed disapproval. Among Republicans, 33% said they would support the idea after he leaves office, and 21% opposed it entirely, both during and after his presidency.

Across party lines, half of all respondents opposed naming government buildings after Trump. Just 9% of Americans supported the practice while he is in office, and 21% supported it after his departure.

Among Democrats, opposition was even stronger: only 3% found it acceptable during his presidency, 11% supported it after he leaves office, and 77% opposed it altogether.

The poll comes as Trump's name has already been added to several federal properties, including the headquarters of the U.S. Institute of Peace, the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, and Palm Beach International Airport, the latter following an unusual deal.
