A tragic series of incidents unfolded across the Greater Toronto Area late Friday and early Saturday, leaving one man dead and two others with life-threatening injuries.
Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Highway 410
Ontario Provincial Police reported that a 48-year-old man from Brampton was pronounced deceased at the scene of a collision on Highway 410 in Mississauga. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the southbound lanes near Derry Road, involving two vehicles and a pedestrian. The OPP stated that no foul play is suspected. All southbound lanes were closed between Steeles Avenue and Derry Road until 5 a.m. for investigation. Authorities urge anyone with dashcam footage to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Man Struck by SUV in Scarborough Parking Lot
In a separate incident, a man is fighting for his life after being hit by an SUV in a Scarborough parking lot late Friday evening. Toronto Police responded to a personal injury collision near Kingston Road and Lawrence Avenue East around 10:20 p.m. A 52-year-old man was operating a Nissan Rogue when an unidentified male pedestrian was struck. The driver remained at the scene, and the pedestrian was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Leslieville Shooting Leaves Man Seriously Injured
Meanwhile, a man in his 30s was badly wounded in a shooting in Leslieville on Friday night. Officers responded to reports of gunshots near Greenwood and Walpole Avenues just after 9 p.m. The victim was found with gunshot wounds and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
