Toronto Police say one person is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting in North York around the noon hour Thursday.

In a series of social media updates, police said officers responded to reports of a shooting shortly before 12:30 p.m. in the Marlee Ave. and Glengrove Ave. W. area, near Allen Rd. and Lawrence Ave. W. When officers arrived at the scene, a victim was found with a gunshot wound and unknown injuries. A suspect was arrested at the scene.

Victim Succumbs to Injuries

A short time later, police confirmed that the injured individual had died at the scene. The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
