A 27-year-old man was taken to hospital on Saturday following a shooting in Langley that police now believe was targeted. The incident occurred in the 5400 block of Brydon Crescent, where officers responded to an assault call shortly after noon.

Investigation Underway

Langley RCMP Sergeant Zynal Sharoom stated in a news release that the investigation is still in its early stages. "At this time, the incident appears to be targeted, and there is no ongoing risk to the public," he said. Police are working to determine the motive behind the shooting.

The victim sustained injuries and was transported to hospital. Authorities have not released details on his condition.

Investigators are urging anyone with information, particularly those with dash cam footage from the area between 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m., to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200, quoting file number 2026-14997.
