A Calgary jury has found Paulos Berhe guilty of second-degree murder in the killing of Donald Lyons, a Forest Lawn resident, during a drug deal that turned deadly in December 2023.

Berhe, 30, stood in the prisoner's box of a Calgary courtroom as the jury delivered its verdict on May 21, 2026. He was also found guilty on a charge of discharging a firearm with intent to wound Lyons' girlfriend, Amber Beach.

The court heard that on Dec. 18, 2023, Lyons, 43, was killed in a shooting that stemmed from a drug deal gone wrong in the Forest Lawn neighborhood. The jury deliberated before reaching the guilty verdict.
