The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) has confirmed that an inmate at Springhill Institution in Nova Scotia died while in custody. The incident occurred on May 7, 2026, at the federal medium-security prison located near Springhill, Nova Scotia.
Details of the Incident
According to a statement released by CSC, the inmate was found unresponsive in their cell during the morning hours. Emergency medical staff responded immediately, but the individual could not be revived. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
