Fatal Crash on Highway 69 Near Henvey Inlet First Nation

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Highway 69 near Highway 522 in Henvey Inlet First Nation. The crash took place around 10:30 p.m. on June 5, 2026. Officers from the OPP and the Anishinabek Police Service responded to the scene.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Highway 69 was closed for several hours as investigators reconstructed the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact the OPP.
