Chelsea Man Missing After Divers Search Gatineau River

Divers from the Sûreté du Québec conducted a search of the Gatineau River on June 4 for a missing 78-year-old man from Chelsea, but the operation was unsuccessful, according to the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police.

Search Efforts Conclude Without Success

The land-and-water search for William (Bill) Lidington, which began on June 2, has ended. Police reported that clues near Lidington's Chelsea home suggested he may have entered the Gatineau River. However, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that he left the area on foot.

Details of the Disappearance

Lidington, who has a neurocognitive health condition, was last seen on Hellard Road at approximately 3 p.m. on June 2. Despite extensive search efforts, including the use of divers, no trace of him has been found.
