Harrow man charged with assaulting police officer, dangerous driving

Essex County Ontario Provincial Police have charged a 45-year-old Harrow man with assaulting a peace officer and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop late on July 7.

Traffic Stop Leads to Multiple Charges

Officers stopped a vehicle around 11:30 p.m. on Gore Road near Harrow. The driver was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a demand, resisting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The man is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor in August to answer to the charges.

Separate Impaired Driving Incident in Leamington

In a separate incident on the morning of July 6, police investigated a disturbance at a motel on Erie Street North in Leamington. A 47-year-old Leamington man had left the motel before police arrived. He was located in his vehicle and arrested.

The suspect is charged with two counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
